Scots nurse is face of cancer campaign

A SCOTS cancer survivor has become the face of a charity campaign highlighting the importance of early detection of the disease.

Retired nurse Sue Vipond's smiling face will feature in Cancer Research UK shops across Scotland until September 9.

Ms Vipond, 62, from Peebles, is part of the Spot Cancer Early campaign, which aims to encourage people to see their GPs about any unusual or persistent changes to their body. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2009 and was treated successfully with surgery and chemotherapy.
