Surgeons launch fund to train deprived teenagers

A TEAM of surgeons that treats injuries caused by violence across Scotland has launched a fund to help change the lives of some of the deprived teenagers they meet.

The frontline medics, who already visit secondary schools to discuss the harsh realities of fighting in the streets, will start offering grants and mentoring young people from poorer backgrounds so they can train in healthcare.
