The low price made us do it, say Scots problem drinkers

A new study of the heaviest drinkers in Scotland has found almost half blamed the low price.

Alcohol as cheap as 9p per unit was found in the research on patients being treated for their drink problems.

In total, the 377 patients studied, ranging in age from 21 to 80, spent a combined £28,491 on alcohol in one week.
