1000 Scots troops to Afghanistan as MoD budget strain is revealed
More than 1000 Scottish troops are being sent to Afghanistan, the UK Government has announced, as it admitted the plunge in the pound’s value was creating “difficulties” for the Ministry of Defence and Foreign Office in countering the terrorist threat.
