A total of 184 people were caught speeding, using a mobile phone, driving carelessly, under the influence of alcohol or without a seat belt, since last Tuesday, according to Lothian and Borders Police.
The alleged offences were recorded as part of the force's Operation Oakum, which aims to reduce road casualties across Edinburgh, Lothians and the Borders.
The police said 67 drivers were stopped for speeding, 55 charged with seat belt offences, 51 caught using their mobile phone, 11 charged with careless driving and six under the influence of alcohol.
Compared with the same period last year, almost 30% fewer serious injuries were recorded on the roads during the enforcement activity, police said.
