SIX buildings across Scotland will share almost £1.9 million of funding from Historic Scotland's Building Repair Grants.

In Peterhead, the former Caley Fisheries Building will be transformed with £250,000 from its derelict state into a mix of social housing and commercial use, while in Glasgow the Gallery of Modern Art has been awarded £98,672 for essential maintenance of its clock tower.

Inverness's Town House has been awarded £500,000, and the art deco Castlebrae Business Centre in Edinburgh will receive £500,000 towards a major refurbishment.

Aberdeen's 19th-century Tivoli Theatre, which is undergoing major restoration work, has secured £47,723, while The Russell Institute in Paisley is to receive £500,000.
