20 evacuated as fire hits tenement block

Twenty people have been evacuated from their homes due to a fire in a tenement block.

The blaze broke out in Crow Road, Glasgow, at around 2.20am today, spreading smoke throughout the building.

Firefighters rescued four residents from the upper floors of the block via ladders and five others were led to safety from within the building. In total 20 people were evacuated and given shelter at Partick Burgh Halls.
