200 firefighters tame huge blaze

MORE than 200 firefighters last night managed to bring a blaze – said to be the biggest London has had for years – under control.

At its height, a huge plume of smoke could be seen across the city as flames tore through a recycling centre in Dagenham, about eight miles from the Olympic Park. No one was hurt.
