THE competition to redesign Glasgow's George Square has attracted 35 bidding companies, with more than one-third having an international profile.
The Herald understands 14 have a base in Glasgow while nine others have a UK presence. The remaining 12 are international firms.
It comes on the back of revelations from an Ipsos MORI poll that, despite not recognising some of the individuals they commemorate, members of the Glasgow public were in favour of retaining the statues.
