This could result in Scotland's new national police headquarters being sited on the River Clyde.
However, there have been reports this facility is likely to be located in Stirling.
At the final meeting of Strathclyde Police Authority (SPA) before a merger of forces, members agreed to give £4.3m to an office development in Dalmarnock.
