50 firefighters battle blaze at Chinese restaurant

More than 50 firefighters are battling a blaze at a beach restaurant.

Crews were called to Jimmy Chung's on Aberdeen's beach esplanade at around 4.20am.

The fire service said 10 units were tackling the fire at the Chinese buffet restaurant.

Police Scotland said the esplanade is currently closed from the traffic lights at the bottom of the Beach Boulevard towards the roundabout near Burger King.

It is understood no one was in the building when the blaze broke out.
