66,000 Scots caught without TV licence

MORE than 66,000 people have been caught watching TV without a licence in Scotland.

According to the latest statistics from TV Licensing Scotland, 13,400 were caught in Glasgow, more than 4200 in Edinburgh, more than 3300 in Dundee and more than 1400 in Aberdeen.

The evasion rate was said to be 5%, meaning 95% of people in Scotland have a licence before they watch.
