800 homes plan to be rejected

A CONTROVERSIAL plan to build 800 new homes on greenbelt near Stirling is expected to be abandoned at a meeting tomorrow night.

The move by dairy firm Graham's to develop land at Airthrey Kerse, Bridge of Allan was to be included in Stirling Council's long-term local development plan.

Councillors are now to vote on a fresh proposal that does not include the Graham's plan for a new school, public park, allotments and sports pitches, after environment watchdogs raised flooding fears.
