A LAWYER who had to have her hands and feet amputated after she contracted meningococcal septicaemia is the subject of the latest painting in a series by an artist.

Olivia Giles, 42, who founded 500 Miles - which supplies prosthetic limbs to developing countries - is delighted with Gerard Burns's finished work which forms part of his "14 for 14" exhibition of portraits of inspirational Scots.

They are due to go on display at a charity fundraising exhibition in The Banking Hall in Clydesdale Bank's head office in St Vincent Street, in Glasgow.
