AG Barr in calorie cut promise

THE makers of Irn-Bru say they will cut the average calorie count across their range of fizzy drinks by 5% to meet Government obesity targets.

AG Barr aims to improve sales of water and fruit juice to bring the average calorie count of their range of products in line with the Government's Public Health Responsibility Deal Calorie Reduction Pledge.

But the sugar content of Irn-Bru and AG Barr's other brands will not be changed.
