Housing and care services charity Bield has launched an ambitious five-year business strategy designed to address the demands of an ageing population.

Its Chief Executive Brian Logan said initiatives such as its Housing With Care model could lead a revolution in the care of Scotland's older people.

He said huge changes within the sector and tough budget restraints were making times challenging for care providers.

The strategy includes remodelling Bield's sheltered housing to include a new retirement housing service, including a daily 'Sure Call' contact service, and a tenancy sustainment service to tackle the isolation felt by some older tenants.

Mr Logan said: "We envisage a Scotland where people of all ages are respected, can make their own choices, and are able to live fulfilling lives."
