Alcohol sale ban placed on store

A SCOTTISH council has taken unprecedented action to ban a store from selling alcohol for one month after it was caught supplying drink to an under-age youngster.

West Dunbartonshire Council banned Linnvale Stores in Clydebank from selling alcohol for a month and has for the first time also used powers to reduce the hours during which it can sell alcohol.

The council’s licensing board took the unprecedented action after an undercover operation in which a youth under the age of 18 was served alcohol at the store in Livingstone Street.
