ONE of Scotland's premier race meetings got off to a flying start with racegoers cheering home Moonlightnavigator in the opening race at Ayr yesterday.Lynn McLaughlin, from Newton Mearns, and Sylvia Reid, Kirstine Gilmour and Nicola Hynd, all from Ayrshire, watched jockey Phillip Makin ride the favourite to victory in the Stallions Studs Novice Stakes at odds of 13/8.

The meeting continues until Saturday when the feature Ayr Gold Cup sprint race takes place.
