Animal research objections

PUBLIC attitudes to animal experiments have shown a significant shift away from acceptance that they might sometimes be necessary.

A Government-commissioned Ipsos Mori poll found that 85% of people questioned were "conditionally" in favour of animal testing, compared with 90% two years ago.

The proportion of those who rejected animal research had gone up from 35% to 37%.
