Apology for row over minister

THE Scottish Government has apologised to a widow who gave Shona Robison a dressing down after the Sports Minister said she would be happy to take a back seat at a ceremony to honour the widow's dead husband.

Jean Forster, 73, criticised Ms Robison's department after a row broke out about her participation in a dedication ceremony at a new gym in Largs. It was being named in memory of her husband, Gordon Forster, a champion Scottish gymnast and national team coach.
