A MAN whose Rottweiler dogs savaged a 10-year-old girl has been sent back to jail after appeal court judges rejected his claim he was not to blame.
Derek Adam, 40, failed in his challenge to the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh following his conviction for breaches of the Dangerous Dogs legislation. Adam's lawyers had argued the dogs, Fat Boy and Pretty Girl, had escaped from his ex-partner's garden in Dundee before attacking the child in August 2010.
They ordered him to complete the 12-month sentence which followed a trial at Dundee Sheriff Court in December 2011.
