POLICE are investigating the disappearance of a teenage girl who has been missing for three days.

Saoirse Docherty, 16, of Leithland Road in Pollok, Glasgow, went missing from her home on Friday, after going to meet family and friends in the village of Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire.

She was last seen by a friend at around 12.30am on Saturday, close to Kilbarchan Bowling Club.

Strathclyde Police said all attempts to trace the teenager have failed and they, along with Ms Docherty's family, are growing concerned for her safety. Officers are now appealing for help in finding her.

Inspector Angela McHendry, based at Paisley police station, said: "I urge anyone who has seen Saoirse since midnight on Friday, March 9, or anyone who knows of her whereabouts, to contact police immediately."

Ms Docherty is described as 5ft 2in, of slim build with brown eyes and brown, collar-length hair. She was last seen wearing brown skinny trousers, brown ankle boots, a cream top and a khaki Barbour-style jacket.
