Archers actress to bow out

Actress Rosalind Adams is to bow out from her role as Clarrie Grundy in The Archers after almost 25 years in the Radio 4 rural soap.

Producers will not be killing off the popular character but will recast the role to enable a fourth actress to play the part.

Adams said she was leaving long-suffering Clarrie – the wife of loveable rogue Eddie – behind to allow her to spend more time with her grandchildren.
