A "SHOCKING" 1323 addresses are classed as being risky for ambulance crews to attend because of the risk of violent incidents or threatening behaviour.

Scottish Labour's health spokesman Neil Findlay said the locations had been flagged by the Scottish Ambulance Service as being "risky for ambulance crews to attend".

A spokesman for the service said for calls to these addresses, dispatch staff can ask that police also attend.

A Freedom of Information request revealed the majority of the addresses, 345, were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area, with 313 in the NHS Lothian area and 150 in the Lanarkshire health board region.

Findlay said: "It's quite shocking that so many addresses across Scotland have been identified as being risky."
