Army man claimed cash for school fees

A SENIOR Army officer has been convicted of defrauding taxpayers of nearly £200,000 to educate his children at a top school.

Lieutenant Colonel Robert Henry Jolleys, 52, claimed the cash to send his three sons to the exclusive Roman Catholic Stonyhurst College in Lancashire.

He used the money – £188,000 – to provide a privileged education for the boys that he could not have otherwise afforded, Swindon Crown Court heard.
