POLICE investigating the death of a man have arrested a suspect.

The 27-year-old male is being held in custody over the death of Albert McDonald, 58, who was found with serious head injuries in a busy street in Riddrie, Glasgow, last month.

Mr McDonald, who lived in the east end of the city, died on the way to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Police Scotland have said that Mr McDonald's family are devastated by his death and they are being provided with support.

A spokesman confirmed a 27-year-old man has been arrested and is being held in custody in connection with the death.

He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later today. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
