A RUGBY player has been named in a Scotland Club XV along with one of four internationalists accused of assaulting him in a kebab shop.

Glasgow Hawks star Ally Maclay has not played since suffering a broken eye socket in the alleged late-night attack in Glasgow in October.

The utility back's call-up to the squad may see him line up alongside Scotland sevens player Rory Hughes. He has been charged in connection with the incident.

Test players Ryan Wilson, Ryan Grant and Sean Maitland also also accused.

Scotland flanker Wilson appeared in private on a serious assault charge at the city's sheriff court last week and the case was continued without plea.

Hughes - who plays for Stirling County - Maitland and Grant are due to appear in the near future.

A Scottish Rugby spokesman said: "The coaches have chosen the players they believe are the most appropriate for the matches on the schedule."
