Auction of costumes raises £15k

COSTUMES and props from some of the world's greatest operas raised more than £15,000 at auction.

Hundreds of bidders sought out lots from the wardrobes of Scottish Opera and Glasgow's Theatre Royal at the sale yesterday.

The theatrical memorabilia, some of which have appeared in productions of La Bohème and Madame Butterfly, were sold with the proceeds going towards improvements at the Theatre Royal.
