A STUDENT has designed a new back-pack to carry an oxygen supply which lets a boy aged 11 lead a more active life.

Lenny Yule from Linwood, Renfrewshire, has interstitial lung disease and must carry a tank of liquid oxygen when away from home.

His original backpack, designed for older patients, was too big.

Hannah Jenkins, 21, a product design student at Glasgow School of Art, came up with a solution on a summer internship at product design firm 4c Design.

Using a smaller bag the right size for Lenny, she added padded straps and a system to hang it from a larger school bag.
