A TEENAGER who fell from a balcony while on holiday in Greece has spoken his first words after waking from a coma.

Sean Reilly suffered serious head injuries last month after falling from the second-floor balcony while on holiday with friends in Faliraki on the Greek island of Rhodes.

The 18-year-old, from Barrhead, was flown home to Scotland just over a week ago and is now being treated at Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital.

It was reported yesterday that he is now able to say a few words and can finally communicate with his family, who have been keeping a vigil at his bedside.

Sean’s father Tom Reilly, 55, said: “I was going to cut his nails and he said ‘don’t bother’. I couldn’t believe it – it was the first time I’d heard him speak in a month.

“I jumped with delight when I heard that.

“I know it’s still early days and there’s no point in getting carried away, but it’s another good sign.”

Sean was on his first holiday abroad without his parents at the Luca Cypria hotel when he toppled from the balcony on July 26.
