DETECTIVES hunting a prisoner who is wanted after breaching the terms of his release licence have had a poor response to an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch.

Officers appealed for information from the public on Thursday's edition for Jonathan Kelly, 34, who breached the terms of his release in the summer from Low Moss Prison, near Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire. Kelly, from Drumchapel, Glasgow, who is dangerous and should not be approached by the public, uses a number of aliases. Police said the programme had thrown up no new potential leads, but they remain optimistic the publicity will lead to a breakthrough. Some reports suggest he may be in hiding in Edinburgh.
