BBC staff urged to talk about Savile

THE new director general of the BBC, George Entwistle, has urged staff to talk to police if they have any information about alleged sexual abuse by Sir Jimmy Savile.

Mr Entwistle emailed staff to say he was "appalled" by the allegations in an ITV documentary this week about the late presenter, which alleged he picked up under-age girls during filming for Top of the Pops and molested others in his BBC dressing room.
