Bearing the message

Honor Llewellin yesterday came face to face with two lovable "pandas" in Princes Street, Edinburgh.

The two-year-old had the encounter as the city of Chengdu in China has embarked on a Europe-wide search to find three "panda ambassadors" to win the chance to visit it and work on a conservation project, while spreading the conservation message around the world. The initiative is being run with Edinburgh Zoo, where crowds have flocked to see giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang.
