Bird deaths mystery at beach

WILDLIFE experts have been left baffled after scores of dead birds washed up on a Scottish beach.

Investigations are under way to determine what caused the deaths of 17 geese and a number of ducks, found on the shore near Arbroath, Angus. Only two birds had any visible wounds.

The carcasses were discovered by dog-walker Kevin Murray, who contacted the authorities.
