A BODY discovered in a Borders forest by a search party is believed to be that of a man missing for almost a week.

Angus Clyde, 58, was last seen leaving his home in Traquair, near Innerleithen, Peeblesshire, at around 7.10am on Monday, November 19, to go to work.

However, he failed to show up and when he did not return home that evening his family contacted police.

His car was later found in a car park at Thornielee Woods just off the Peebles to Galashiels A72 road.

Lothian and Borders Police confirmed they found a man's body during a search on Sunday, adding: "The body is believed to be that of Angus Clyde."
