Body found in Clyde

THE body of a man missing for more than a fortnight has been recovered from the River Clyde.

George Glackin, 43, from East Kilbride had been missing since September 18.

The father-of-three's body was recovered from the river near Clyde Street. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the construction supervisor's death.

Mr Glackin, a keen fisherman and walker, had last been seen in The Spirit pub on Glasgow's London Road.

A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said a post-mortem examination will be carried out and a report will be sent to the procurator-fiscal.
