Body found in loch is identified

A man's body that was found in a city loch on Sunday has been identified.

The body found in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh is of 24-year-old Sanjay Dhital who lived in the city's Elm Row. The discovery in St Margaret's Loch was made following a search for the missing man.

Police launched an operation with Borders Underwater Search Team, Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and Borders Search and Rescue Team to find Mr Dhital who was last seen on Boxing Day. There are no suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the procurator-fiscal.
