New lives have brought new year joy for parents around Scotland as hospitals welcomed the first babies of 2015.
One of the first to arrive was a baby boy for the King family, born at the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital in Glasgow at 12.02am.
Weighing in at 7lb 2oz, the boy, whose first name has not been confirmed, is the second child of childcare worker Ashley and supermarket nightshift worker Mark, who also have a two-year-old daughter.
In the Highlands, Lucas Brown arrived at 12.20am at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
The 6lb 5oz boy is the second child for Paul Brown and Jacqueline Hamilton, who have a three-year-old daughter.
Offshore worker Mr Brown said: "It all went smoothly. It was a nice surprise because he was three-and-a-half weeks early.
"We're ecstatic. I was offshore so it was nice to get home in time for it."
Reagan Brown (6lb 10oz) arrived at 2am at St John's Hospital in Livingston, West Lothian, to parents Louise Feenie and Joff Brown.
Around 20 minutes later Nicole Gemmell, 19, from Carron near Falkirk, was introduced to her first child, Kasie-Leigh (6lb 13oz), who was delivered at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.
It was a busy night for the Forth Valley hospital, which welcomed six babies in the early hours after the bells.
At Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, Caroline Salazor gave birth to a baby boy at 4.55am. His name is not yet known.
Edinburgh Royal Infirmary delivered Mason David Marshall (8lb 4oz) at 6.55am to parents Callie Pugh, 24, and Darren Marshall, 25.
In Ayrshire, the maternity unit at University Hospital Crosshouse welcomed two morning babies.

Ms Wallace, a staff nurse at the hospital, and Mr Bruce, a TV and film extra, are from Onthank in Kilmarnock. Shane is a brother for Mia, 11, Troy, six, and two-year-old twins, Elina and Annalise.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
