Britons lose out to holiday scams

Con men and thieves are going to elaborate lengths to steal from Britons on holidays abroad.

Those taking breaks overseas have fallen foul of the "bus breakdown", where a driver pretends the vehicle has failed in the middle of nowhere and demands money from passengers to be collected.

In another scam, a taxi driver forces passengers to pay a fine for not wearing seat belts, then passes the money to an accomplice posing as a policeman, revealed Sainsbury's Travel Money.
