Budget day start for PCS protest

THOUSANDS of civil servants are to stage industrial action on Budget Day over pay and pensions.

The UK's largest civil service union, the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS), has picked March 20 for the first in a series of protests scheduled to last three months.

The union's members, including around 30,000 staff in Scotland, want a 5% pay rise, or £1200.
