Bulgarian threat to minimum pricing plan

SCOTTISH Government plans to impose a minimum price for alcohol have come under threat from Bulgaria.

Wine producers in the former communist state, concerned over how their exports will be hit by the move from Holyrood, have asked their government to raise objections with the European Commission. The protest means the EU's reflection period for the policy will be extended by three months to late December and could delay Scottish Government plans to introduce minimum pricing next year.
