Bus firm has licence revoked

A BUS firm which took passengers from Ayrshire and Inverclyde to the Braehead shopping centre has ceased to operate after a legal case.

Harte Buses has suspended its service after HM Revenue and Customs raised a petition at Greenock Sheriff Court, seeking the firm's sequestration over debts of £65,000.

That petition was granted and as a result of the legal action, Joan Aitken, the Traffic Commissioner for Scotland, has revoked the public service vehicle operator's licence for the company, held by owner Peter Harte.

Following the ruling, Mr Harte said: "As we thought, the operators' licence we hold has been revoked. This is due to the sequestration order placed upon us."
