SCOTS pop star Jimmy Somerville has taken the internet by storm after video footage of him busking with a man in Berlin appeared.

The Glasgow-born former Bronski Beat lead singer was walking his dog when he came across the amateur singer who was doing a cover of the band's 1980s hit Smalltown Boy.

The diminutive Somerville, who also enjoyed chart success with The Communards and as a solo artist, joined him for an impromptu version of the number three hit.

The 60-second clip of the meeting has gone viral, attracting more than 250,000 views.

A member of Onkel Bernis Welt, who filmed the footage, wrote: "What a huge surprise for this street musician and us.

"We were filming him singing the song Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat, when suddenly Jimmy Somerville (the original singer) comes up and joins him singing.

"Awesome - things like that only happen in Berlin."

Somerville, 52, admits to the busker he is the singer of the original, after telling the man: "It's a hit. It's a hit."
