David Cameron has failed to identify the performer of Britain's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest - and even admitted he did not know who was hosting the show.

The Prime Minister was put on the spot during an interview with BBC Radio Suffolk, but could not come up with the name of Molly Smitten-Downes, who will perform her song Children Of The Universe in the contest in Copenhagen tomorrow.

And he thought the UK host of the show might still be Sir Terry Wogan, who gave up the job in 2008 and was replaced by Graham Norton.

Asked whether he would be joining millions of TV viewers in watching Eurovision tomorrow, Mr Cameron said: "Probably not, if I'm absolutely honest."
