Capital parade marks homecoming

Hundreds of soldiers marched through Edinburgh yesterday to mark their return from a six-month tour of Afghanistan – as the nation marked the 65th anniversary of VE Day.

The men and women of 3 Rifles and 1 Scots -- a 1400-strong battlegroup -- also honoured their 30 comrades lost in the Afghan campaign. It is the highest death toll of any Scots regiment in 60 years.
