Careers 'delaying families'

Three-quarters of women in their twenties and thirties polled by a Marie Claire survey said their work is either very important or the single most important thing in their lives.

A new breed of "female careerists", driven by the recession, is focused on climbing the professional ladder, with 30% saying they delayed motherhood for this reason, the survey suggests.
