Celtic: Why we voted Rangers out

CELTIC defended its decision to oppose the bid by newco Rangers to enter the Scottish Premier League (SPL) saying it was the "correct course of action in protecting the integrity of the game in Scotland".

The Parkhead side became 1-33 favourites to win the SPL next season after 10 of the 12 clubs voted to reject the newco Rangers application after five hours of talks at Hampden.

The Ibrox club must now wait to find out if it will be allowed into the Scottish Football League (SFL) for the start of the next season.
