Charity auction for card artwork

ALASDAIR Gray's artwork for Alex Salmond's Christmas card is to go under the hammer in aid of several charities.

The author and artist's Bella Caledonia, used on the First Minister's 2011 card, will be sold in a fine art sale at Great Western Auctions in Glasgow.

Mr Salmond welcomed the move, which follows similar sales of the SNP leader's festive choices that have raised more than £127,000 since 2007.
