PRINCE CHARLES has visited a 16th century building brought back to life by a regeneration project after 40 years of neglect.

The Duke of Rothesay toured Merchant's House in Brechin, Angus.

He inspected the restoration work in his capacity as president of The Prince's Regeneration Trust, which helped to co-ordinate the project in its makeover of Brechin's oldest townhouse.

He also met tenants of the 1575 property, which was converted into two homes under the project, when it was completed earlier this year.
