Cinema to reopen after a £500,000 campaign boost

A LOTTERY grant of more than £500,000 will enable a rural cinema to reopen after 30 years.

Campaigners seeking to restore the Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy said the award means they have now passed their £1.8 million target.

Work on bringing the big screen back to the community in Highland Perthshire will start in April, subject to planning approval.
